SEPT. 8 – BE COURAGEOUS

“Have not I commanded you?  Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be you dismayed:  for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

JOSHUA 1:8

Courage was the weapon God gave to Joshua to take his people to the Promised Land. He said, “Be strong and courageous”. Courage is not the absence of fear; courage is pressing forward even in the midst of fear. Maybe you don’t know how your business is going to go, but you are attempting it all right. Everyone is afraid that you will fail but you are still pressing forward. God repeated this question and said, “Have I not told you that be strong and courageous?” The strength here is not about physical strength but inner tenacity. That is why for sickness to even to overtake you, it will depend on your inner strength.

Maybe the reason you are afraid is that your inner man is very weak. The Bible says, “If your strength fails in the days of adversity, then your strength is very weak” (Prov. 24:10). The problem is not the adversity but the inner strength. It is abnormal for you to go through life without challenges. If you say you are a general, don’t only show me your trophies, also show me your scars. You can come to Potters city and call me a general but we have scars. May the Lord lift your scars and turn them into your trophies.

PRAYER:

Pray and ask God to give you the courage to press on in life…..

TODAY’S QUOTE:

It is dangerous to say you have arrived without showing your scar.
