OCT. 16 – UNDERSTANDING PRIESTHOOD

“And Saul said, Bring hither a burnt offering to me, and peace offerings. And he offered the burnt offering.” 1 Samuel 13:9

Most of us don’t understand priesthood. One of the people you should fear most is someone who understands priesthood. Jesus is a prophet, priest and king. The Kingdom of God is set up with the structure of priesthood.

Because many Christians don’t respect or understand the priesthood, they have dishonored it, much to their own harm.

If you violate the priesthood order, you begin to violate the order of your breakthrough. When you are in an aircraft, there is communication taking place between the pilot and the traffic control. The passengers do not hear. The air traffic control doesn’t speak to passengers.

Don’t ever think that you know what your priest doesn’t know! If you violate the priesthood, you will lose your kingdom. We live in a generation of dishonour. Saul lost his throne because of dishonour.

In 1 Samuel 13:8, Israel was preparing for a battle, but they had to wait for Samuel, their prophet and priest. Their victory in the battle was determined by the actions of the Prophet. Instead, Saul demanded that they should bring him the burnt offerings and sin offerings. He was transgressing on the order of the priesthood, an office that belonged to the Prophet Samuel.

Don’t try to step into people’s grace if you haven’t paid the price to be where they are! Saul violated the priesthood and lost his throne. God stripped it from him and his lineage forever because of this insubordination.

If you dishonor the office of the priesthood by standing around gossiping about men of God, dishonoring spiritual authority and walking in pride and disobedience, it is only a matter of time, you will surely sink.

Ask God to help you to walk in honour of the structures He has put in place.

Prayer: Lord, I repent for not honoring the structures you have put in place for my deliverance. I pray for grace to honour the priesthood in Jesus name.
