“And David was greatly distressed; for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.” — 1 SAMUEL 30:6
You need to encourage yourself in the Lord. Life is full of ups and downs. At one moment, you are up; at another moment, you are down. My question is, who do you look up to in your moments of distress? Some people have made others their source of comfort, so when such individuals disappoint them, life comes to a standstill. Others put their trust in politicians who don’t even have solutions for their country. I have always said that no political party will come to power to change my life; if that were the case, I would have disgraced my God. God is my ultimate source of comfort.
You need to encourage yourself in no one else but the Supreme Being. When you encourage yourself in the Lord, He opens doors upon doors for you. It doesn’t matter what the cankerworm or the caterpillar has eaten; God is more than able to restore what has been lost. There is an overtaking anointing coming your way, so you need to keep encouraging yourself in the Lord. I pray that as you encourage yourself in the Lord, you will experience His visitation in your life.
Prayer: Pray and ask God to give you rest from the burden you are carrying.
