“Finally, my brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.” — PHILIPPIANS 4:8
In our reference text today, Paul is admonishing us to think about things that are true, pure, just, and honest. What are you thinking about today? Maybe the reason your blessing is delayed is that you are not thinking correctly. You are expecting God to bless you, yet you have a poverty mindset. There are people sitting in church with polluted minds; they just cannot celebrate anything good. Someone came to Potter’s City one day and said: “All the money we are spending on projects could have been given to the poor.”
One day, someone bought a very nice car and met a friend who told him that he could have bought a different car and given the rest of the money to the poor. I like the response of the man; he said, “By buying this car, I am already feeding the poor because the one who services this car and the one who fixes my tires are all paid to cater to their families.” Some of you are speaking evil because your thinking is not right; whenever you see good things, you cannot celebrate. Whatever things are true, whatever things are honest, whatever things are just, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue, think positively.
Prayer: Pray and ask God to deliver you from perverted thinking.
