“Be not conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” — ROMANS 12:2
Apostle Paul said, “Be not conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Why do you have to renew your mind? Because God cannot do it for you. Jesus paid the price to redeem your spirit and inject righteousness into it, but when it comes to your mind, you must renew it yourself. You should be able to sit in church and be loving. Anytime people come around you feeling depressed, by the time they leave you, their depression should have left them.
Some people come to church and criticize everything that others do. Why? Because of the state of their minds. Some people even find it difficult to tell their wives that they look good because, to them, it is not necessary. The reason your matrimonial home is in turbulence is that you are treating your wife the same way your father treated your mother — with a traditional mindset. Jesus said, “You make the word of God of no effect by the traditions of your fathers.” Never stay around a person with a traditional mindset, no matter how spiritual they may appear; you must distance yourself from them.
Prayer: Pray and ask God to deliver you from wrong traditions.
