SEP. 29 – BENEFITS OF PRAYING IN TONGUES

“Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”
Romans 8:26-27 (NKJV)

It’s important to understand that the Holy Spirit is our designated Helper. The scripture says, “The Spirit also helps in our weaknesses,” which implies that every believer has limitations when it comes to prayer. We are restricted when we rely only on our understanding. However, the Bible assures us that, “He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” This means the Holy Spirit assists us in praying according to God’s will when we pray with His help.

Remember, the only prayer that God answers is the one that is aligned with His will (1 John 5:14).

Praying in the Holy Spirit also strengthens your faith, especially when your faith is weak. Jude 1:20 says, “But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit…” Faith is essential in prayer because the period between your prayer and the manifestation of the answer is sustained by faith. If you desire to build your faith, begin to cultivate a habit of spending long hours praying in tongues. In time, you will develop a robust faith.

As Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 14:4, “He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself…” Praying in the Spirit strengthens your inner man and builds you up.

Prayer: Begin to pray in the language of the Holy Spirit right now…
