“Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.”
COLOSSIANS 3:18-19
Every woman should take note of this: If you obey what God is saying and submit to your husband, even if he’s difficult, you are still called to submit to him. How do we know you are submissive? It’s reflected in the way you speak. When you raise your voice at your husband, it shows a lack of submission. One of my mentors once said, “A man will never struggle to give money to a woman who is submissive.”
Do you know why men work so hard? It’s for you women, to take care of the family. That’s why, even negatively, when a man gains wealth, he often seeks more women, because he doesn’t want to enjoy his success alone.
Every man naturally appreciates a woman who is submissive. He will even rest his head on her lap. The New Testament writer says, “Let all women submit to their husbands, honoring them as Sarah honored Abraham, calling him ‘my lord’.” In this way, your husband is your lord. My mentor, Bishop Oyedepo, once said, “Not even in the first strife or argument has my wife raised her voice or hand against me, even when I was at fault.” It’s not normal for a woman to shout at her husband. For some of you, it may not be entirely your fault; perhaps you grew up in an environment where insults were common. In that case, you need spiritual renewal to transform your character.
