OCT. 25 – WHAT SUPPRESSED ANGER CAN LEAD TO

“Be angry, and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger” – Ephesians 4:26, ESV.

The Bible tells us, “Do not let the sun go down on your anger.” This means that whenever you feel angry, you have the choice to let it go. However, if you hold onto it, that anger can grow into unforgiveness. At this stage, you become weighed down by the things you’re harboring in your heart. Even when you attend church, hear the Word of God, and worship, you may still leave with unresolved issues on your mind.

If left unchecked, unforgiveness leads to resentment. Resentment is a strong and painful bitterness you feel when someone wrongs you. It’s so heavy that carrying it will slow down your progress in life. If you continue holding onto resentment, it eventually develops into bitterness. Anyone living with bitterness faces a bleak future because, before long, everything in their life begins to deteriorate. This is the point where you often feel exhausted by the weight of the pain you’ve accumulated over time. Don’t let your anger take you this far, it’s a dangerous path.

PRAYER:
Ask God to help you control your temper and let go of any anger or resentment you’re holding onto.
