OCT. 29 – THE ROLE OF FASTING IN YOUR CHRISTIAN LIFE

“Is not this the fast that I have chosen? To loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?” — Isaiah 58:6

Throughout the history of Christianity, every recorded revival has been birthed through prayer and fasting. You cannot experience true revival in your life without embracing the discipline of prayer and fasting. The reason many believers find fasting challenging is due to its sacrificial nature. Fasting is indeed a sacrifice, and whenever a sacrifice is made, power is released.

The enemy knows that when you engage in fasting, spiritual power is unleashed, weakening his kingdom and rendering it powerless. This is why Jesus Himself did not begin His ministry without first undertaking a forty-day and forty-night fast. Fasting not only strengthens the believer’s spiritual condition, but it also grants them victory over the enemy.

PRAYER:
Ask God to help you commit to a life of fasting as part of your walk with Him.
