NOV. 1 – STOP THAT HABIT

“But I keep under my body and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.” – 1 Corinthians 9:27

Every bad habit can be broken. Each of us is responsible for our habits, and you have the power to stop any ungodly behavior in your life. The Bible says, “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (James 4:7). The Apostle Paul declared, “I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.”

You can bring your body under control. Today, you can choose to stop lying, cheating, or gossiping. Romans 8:12-13 says, “Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die; but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.” Through the help of the Spirit, we can subdue, suppress, and control the flesh. Each time you face a challenging habit, enter into a covenant with God about it, and you will walk in freedom for the rest of your life.

PRAYER:
