“From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.’” – Matthew 4:17
The journey of salvation we are on is a personal adventure. That’s why no one, not even your spouse, can prevent you from going to church. Marriage, after all, is temporary here on earth. When Jesus returns, marriage will no longer exist. He told the Sadducees that in heaven, we will be like the angels (Matthew 22:30).
Do you know why Jesus hasn’t returned yet? It’s because of an extension of mercy and time. He said, “This good news of the Kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all nations; and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14). This salvation message we preach is not a joke.
Some people sit in church and still engage in fornication, adultery, lying, gossiping, and all kinds of sin. Don’t think that merely attending church and praying guarantees heaven. Don’t deceive yourself—you can lose your salvation. That’s why Jesus said, “Occupy till I come.” He will come like a thief in the night (1 Thessalonians 5:2), meaning He will take us by surprise. Some think that belonging to a particular church ensures their place in heaven. But God doesn’t have any church’s name recorded in heaven. What He has is the Book of Life, and your name must be in this Book to enter His Kingdom.
PRAYER:
Pray and ask God to help you not miss His Kingdom.
