NOV. 14 – CONTROL YOUR SPEECH

“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.” – Ephesians 4:29

The Lord said to me, “You keep crying to Me about blessing the people, but I am not the one withholding their blessing, it is their attitude.” We have preached a lot about fornication and adultery, but there is a sin that is silently harming the church: it is called gossip, it is called slander, it is called backbiting. Every person has some weakness; we all have shortcomings, yet there are those in the church who justify their weaknesses. They gossip about others and feel no remorse, and this has become a hindrance, causing delays in their blessings.

Sometimes, silence is the best choice, for “death and life are in the power of the tongue” (Proverbs 18:21), and “even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent” (Proverbs 17:28). You can often recognize a fool by what they say; if they remain silent, their folly is hidden. The Babylonian system we live in is shaping many things, but every plan of Babylon is without God. When you gossip, you place yourself under the influence of this Babylonian system.

PRAYER: Pray and ask God to deliver you from the influence of any Babylonian system.
