OCT. 23 – YOU ARE NOT OF THIS WORLD

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1 JOHN 2:15

When God asked Moses to lead His children from Egypt to the Promised Land, He succeeded in taking them out of Egypt but He did not take Egypt out of them. This is how we can tell that God did not take Egypt out of them: they will face a little challenge and complain to Moses that they want to go back to Egypt. Remember this: you can never get to your Canaan until you walk out of Egypt. Maybe you attend church, God has succeeded in giving you Christ but he has not taken the world out of you.

This is why people can be in the church and still have a worldly lifestyle. It doesn`t mean that they are not born-again Christians; God has succeeded in taking them out of the world but He has not taken the world out of them. You can be in church, pray in tongues and still follow after the things of this world. God can be serving you angelic food and you will still have an appetite for earthly food. Pastoral work has become very difficult these days because of the kind of people we are pastoring now. It is not easy to pastor people with worldly instincts. To walk out of Egypt to your Promised Land is not God`s responsibility but your responsibility. May you receive strength today to walk out of the pleasures of this world.

PRAYER:

Pray and ask God to help you walk out of any worldly pleasure…
