JULY 31 – HUMBLE YOURSELF

“Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.”

JAMES 4:10

David said, “Search me and know my heart, try me and know my thoughts and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way of everlasting” (Psalm 139:23-24). If you change your attitude, God will change your destiny. Anytime you get angry, how do you react to situations? The Bible says, “Be slow in speaking but fast in hearing” (James 1:19). Make sure that you think before you act. Let humility be your everyday prayer topic; always pray and say ‘ Lord, clothe me with the mantle of humility; deliver me from pride. I don’t want to have anything to do with pride. Any area of my life, pride has entered, Lord set me free. Saturate me with the spirit of humility and let me walk in meekness’.

Humility can let you go far in life; it multiplies grace upon your life. In 1 Peter 5:5 the Bible says, “God resists the proud but He gives grace to the humble”. What is humility? You know you are right yet you are still saying, “ I am sorry”. You kill a person’s ego when you are right and still go ahead to apologize. All the quarrels at home could have been resolved if one had humbled himself or herself to apologize. A lot of divorce cases could have been resolved at home by just a simple ‘I am sorry for what I did’… It’s called Humility.

PRAYER:

Pray and ask God to deliver you from the spirit of pride…..

TODAY’S QUOTE:

Humility can let you go far in life.
