The ministry of fasting is to a great extent directed against the devil. Anytime you decide to engage in a fast, you are battling with principalities and powers in the unseen realm. As a result of that, the devil will always do everything in his power to give you good reasons why you shouldn’t fast. The devil always aims at opposing everything that has its origin and goal in the Lord. Every true fast has its origin in the Lord and it is geared towards pleasing the Lord. That is why the devil will do everything to oppose it.
A true fast is also directed toward the overthrow of the devil and his kingdom. This means that when you are going into a fast, you need to be fully assured that you are going into a battle. The devil will try to use every means possible to discourage you from fasting, including your mind and body. That is why there is the need to renew your mind or psyche yourself before engaging in a fast because the tendency of the devil capitalizing on your mind is very high.
PRAYER:
Pray and ask God to give you strength to resist every attempt of the devil…………
