“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.”
GALATIANS 5:16
Walk in the spirit and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. To walk in the spirit means to operate in the spirit, to engage the Holy Spirit in your earthly walk. The Spirit works contrary to the flesh, and the flesh to the Spirit. If you don’t walk in the spirit, the flesh will subdue the spirit but when you engage the spirit, you will subdue the flesh.
Romans 8:3-4 says, “ For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Righteousness is the law that can be fulfilled by walking after the spirit. It takes the law of Spirit to break the law of sin and death. The Holy Spirit dwelling inside you is the surest way to disarm the law of sin and death; hence we need to walk in the Spirit always.
