SEPT. 1 – DON’T SUPPRESS YOUR ANGER

“Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath.”

EPHESIANS 4:26

Suppressed anger may also be known as unexpressed anger. It is a situation where you get angry or offended, and decide to bury your anger because you feel it is not the right time to show it, thus pushing the anger into a filing cabinet and saving it for another day. This method of treating anger can be very destructive especially in marriage in the long run.

In fact, so many people with this kind of attitude submit easily to thoughts, which compel them to walk out, and sometimes end up in places that make them regret later on. Sometimes, even married men have had to end up in the bosom of other woman or vice versa, thus breaking their marriage vows because they allowed their anger to be suppressed. One typical example of suppressed anger in the Bible was Absalom’s anger against his stepbrother Ammon in 2 Samuel 13:21-32. In fact, Absalom succeeded in suppressing his anger for a long period of years and carried out revenge against Ammon when everybody thought the incident had been laid to rest. May that never happen to you in Jesus’ Name. Amen!
