“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you.” — MATTHEW 6:14
You must try as much as possible to forgive people, no matter their offenses. Remember, Jesus forgave all of our sins, so you have no right to hold anything against anybody. If you find it difficult to forgive others, God will also find it difficult to forgive you. I have come to understand that, with the exception of one sin (which is unforgiveness), the blood of Jesus can wash away any other sin. God can forgive you of every sin except the sin of unforgiveness.
Learn to forgive people when they wrong you. It may be difficult, but consider how Jesus did it so that you can adopt the same method. In Luke 23:34, while the Roman soldiers were crucifying Him, He said to the Father, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” Jesus gave God a reason to forgive His killers. The reason for His plea was that they did not know what they were doing. You must always have a reason to forgive people for their mistakes, and ignorance is one of the major reasons you should stand on to forgive others. Your offender may be ignorant of what he or she did.
Let me also inform you that when you decide to forgive people, you will not only be doing them a favor, but you will also be doing yourself a favor because God will equally forgive you of your wrongs (Matt 6:14).
Prayer: Pray and ask God to give you the heart to forgive others.
