SEP. 28 – PRAYING IN TONGUES

“I thank my God I speak with tongues more than you all.” — 1 Corinthians 14:18

Many have misunderstood and misinterpreted this precious gift from the Holy Spirit. You often hear people say things like, “In my church, we don’t speak in tongues.” But speaking in tongues goes beyond any specific church denomination, so don’t let ignorance rob you of divine blessings. Simply attending a local church is not enough to win the battles of life. You need something more.

You must realize that life only gives you what you are prepared to fight for. Once you become born again, the next natural progression is to speak in tongues. In fact, it is one of the first signs that follows after you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior (see Acts 10:44-46).

Apostle Paul said, “I thank my God I speak in tongues more than you all” (1 Corinthians 14:18). Paul walked in a higher dimension because he had a secret: he spoke in tongues more than anyone else. As a result, he wrote two-thirds of the New Testament, an accomplishment that came through his consistent practice of praying in the Holy Spirit.

Unfortunately, I’ve seen some men of God teach false doctrines on this subject. The truth is, if they don’t pray in tongues themselves, they can’t effectively teach it. I’ve learned from experience that every time you pray in tongues, you activate the Holy Spirit’s judgment against the devil.

Prayer:
If you desire the gift of speaking in tongues, pray and ask God to fill you with His Spirit. He is faithful and will respond to your heart’s desire.
