The truth of the matter is that God detests idol worship. It’s the only thing in the Bible that God punishes without mercy. He emphasized His feelings about them very strongly throughout the Bible, notably in Exodus 34:17, Leviticus 26:1 and Deuteronomy 7:25. There are numerous references to the fact that God hates the practice of worshipping idols. Idols will become a trap for you! And you will become like them if you worship them.
Idols have caused endless generational destruction, poverty, sickness, death and so on. They are the cause of many woes that people are going through which cannot be easily explained. Idols reduce the potential of people. Because of Idol worship, intelligent people have been unable to go to school, promising young men have become drunkards, waywardness has arrested many children and so on. The list of what idols can do is endless.
In some places, we find national idols, community idols, family idols and individual idols. This is the main problem of Africa. There’s no continent that has more idols than Africa!
In Judges 6, God was showing Gideon the reason for the poverty in Israel. The Bible says that the Israelites were impoverished because of the Midianites. Some people are deceived to think that idols are protecting them, whereas idols are actually destroying them! You can follow tradition for your own destruction! Pouring libation does not invoke God, it invokes demons.
Disconnect yourself from every form of idol worship in your background and life today!
Prayer: Lord, I repent of any association I have had with idol worship through my lineage. By the blood of Jesus, I disconnect myself and my generations from idol worship, in Jesus name! Amen.
